Of 2016 Forecasts, Opinions, and Advice
Two simple yet interesting questions were posed recently at two Valens events. The first question, from our company Christmas party, is the type of simple query that can cause you to think very philosophically about life. The second question, from the recent APEC forum, is a loaded one about stock market forecasts. At some level, the two questions are related, and both provide ideas to contemplate for the coming year.
What advice would you have given your younger self?
At our Christmas party, a question began floating around from table to table, “If you could go back in time and give yourself advice when you were the age of 10, what advice would you give?”
There is an agelessness and honesty in giving advice to yourself. What you would advise your ten-year old self is likely the same advice you may need to remind yourself today. So, people did seem to ponder the question, some more than others, before providing that valued advice.
