For years, Valens Research in the Philippines has been providing scholarships, on-the-job training, and careers to PUP students and graduates. The reason?

Valens’ CPA and Finance Career Accelerator program provides an unparalleled, valuable apprenticeship, beginning immediately after graduation.

It’s an incredible stepping stone for accounting and finance students at the outset of their career, before sitting for their CPA or CFA examinations.

With more than 36,000 subscribing entities and over 100,000 readers of Valens’ research…

Learn why future accountants and finance professionals are needed now more than ever in the financial world.

The distortions and problems in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)-based financial statements are rampant—leading investors to make bad investment decisions.

Warren Buffett: “The net earnings figure… is not representative of the business at all.”

Forbes: “Why GAAP Accounting Rules May Be Damaging to Investors.”

Seth Klarman: “Analysis of reported earnings can mislead investors as to the real profitability of a business.”

Professor Joel Litman, Chairman and CEO of Valens Research and the Founder and Chief Investment Strategist of Altimetry Financial Research, will conduct a free webinar for Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ students, graduates, and the greater PUP community.

He will discuss:

– What the greatest CPA minds in the world can teach you about accounting and the financial statements
– Going from accountant to supporting decisions to decision-maker
– How horrible investments and terrible business decisions are often made when GAAP, IFRS, and PFRS are so misunderstood
– Insights from highly advanced forensic accounting taught to the FBI and the Pentagon

Professor Litman will also provide provocative opinions and his no-holds-barred view of the state of Wall Street Research and what he calls “a demise more than ten years in the making.” He sources “the greatest investors ever” as some of the evidence for his perspective.
