Ben King is an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs in the Healthcare Group.

As an Investment Banking Analyst, Ben would like to learn more about healthcare, in general, to better understand some of the themes that are impacting the industry and be able to better serve clients. He also would like to focus on viewing things from a more holistic perspective and really understand how to pitch a story to clients. He wants to learn how to run a buy/sell-side process, or financing since he currently does not have that much experience managing these processes. Ben would also like to learn more about analyzing a company and giving strategic advice on how to achieve an objective, better manage the company, or divest/acquire business lines.

Ben was a former analyst at Valens Securities. He assisted in preparing many of the different equity and credit research reports that were sent out to clients. According to him, his experience at Valens has helped him immensely in other roles and even in his current position. He is very grateful for the time he was able to spend with the firm, and for everything he was able to learn along the way.

Outside of being an analyst on a daily basis, Ben loves to read a lot. He usually starts his day by reading the Wall Street Journal, and usually reads a few interesting pieces throughout the day as a break from work. It helps him stay informed on what’s going on in the world and things he is interested in. He also enjoys learning about something new that isn’t related to work. He finds it very relaxing and a good way to get away from looking at screens.
