Darren Pangan is currently working at Timson Securities, Inc. (TSI) as an Equity Trader. TSI primarily caters to retail and institutional clients in the Philippines and overseas.

According to Darren, his main task as an Equity Trader is to execute trades for clients and give out basic, technical, and fundamental analysis on local stocks that his traditional clients inquire about. He also entertains online client inquiries about certain stocks they are interested in.

Darren used to be an Analyst under the Finance Career Accelerator Program (FCA) in Valens. He mentioned that working at Valens helped him develop a lot of skills that he has been using in his current position, such as paying attention to details, being able to manage his time wisely, and staying driven to succeed to achieve his goals.

One of the opportunities that he would like to focus on in his current role is being able to observe the stock market’s movement on both a long-term and a short-term perspective. He would like to translate those into meaningful and profitable pieces of advice for the benefit of the investing public.

Darren sees the low involvement in the stock market of the local population as one of the challenges of the industry. He would like to help people discover more about their personality, risk appetite, and investment goals, and how they can get involved in the market using the strategies that they are comfortable with.

Before the pandemic, Darren used to spend a lot of time playing bowling whenever he got the chance to do so.
