Gabriel “Gabe” Jarabata is a Business Development Executive at Tajara Hospitality. He handles the internal developments of the company such as implementing new tech to improve workflow, maintaining social media presence, and collaborating with different organizations. His work focuses on hospitality consulting to guide their hotel project’s full development cycle from site selection, acquisition, technical services, marketing, branding, hotel operator selection, pre-operating set-up, and owner’s representation.

Gabe shared that the opportunities he experiences in his current job expose him to meet clients who are in top positions and create materials for tourism projects. These experiences help him enhance his knowledge on hospitality and expand his network in the industry. He also faces the challenges of presenting the company’s main services to top-level clients in the Philippines.

Gabe also handled the social media campaign and sales calls of PHILHOST (Philippine Hospitality Sustainable Tourism). It was a hotel management event that was held at the Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay last May 24, 2019. His tasks were to promote the event and gather potential attendees. As a result, with the help of contacts, he was able to get more than 100 attendees, turning the event into a successful one.

Prior to his current work, Gabe worked as an intern for Valens Research under the Marketing team. He was then absorbed by the company after his internship and became a fulltime Junior Marketing Associate. He was assigned to do content creation for social media posts and email marketing. He also built a social media marketing plan for the 2019 Beat the Market Masterclass conducted by the firm and was in charge of the weekly internal newsletter of the firm.

Other than his interest in the hospitality industry, Gabe mentioned that he follows a healthy lifestyle and goes to the gym daily. But he does not shy away from the occasional whole day or whole night dedicated to playing video games. Despite that, he still sustains his fitness goals and spends quality time with his loved ones.
