Janrey Rivera is currently based in Houston and has been working as a Research Assistant at Terra Nova Capital Advisors.

As a Research Assistant, he collaborates with two portfolio managers who oversee the Evli Emerging Frontier Fund, an equity fund investing in rapidly growing developing economies. He primarily covers Energy, Real Estate, and Financial industries conducting research, due diligence, and financial analysis. He also closely follows macroeconomic developments in 10+ emerging markets in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

On the side, he works on a part-time basis on a project for a startup research agency that produces analysis on global central bank sentiment. In this role, he performs data gathering & analysis of macroeconomic indicators that central banks around the globe use to assess monetary policies in place.

Before focusing on investment research, Janrey was an Economic Research Analyst at EAS. His experience helped him extract and form research insights and investment decisions based on credit factors, and arrive at more robust valuations. This experience was the foundation for his practical knowledge in macroeconomics and equity research.

Right now, Janrey is focusing on solidifying his grasp of the emerging markets and finding alpha/outperformance in smaller and less efficient markets.

According to Janrey, his life is like a “poorly written open book” yet he chooses to keep the fun side of him private.
