Michelle Policarpio currently works at BDO Unibank as a Junior Assistant Manager 1. BDO Unibank is a Philippine banking company that has over 1,500 operating branches and more than 4,400 ATMs (automated teller machines) across the country.

As a Junior Assistant Manager 1, Michelle is responsible for performing KYC (Know Your Customer), consent procurement and certification, and online account opening for different bank products.

Michelle was an Executive Assistant under the EA team at Valens Research. Her responsibilities included assisting the firm’s President and CEO, Professor Joel Litman, and other executives by providing various administrative tasks.

Working in the banking industry is a whole new experience for Michelle. She has definite plans on how she wants to grow in her career but for now, she wants to take things one step at a time to maintain a positive disposition and gain new knowledge in the field.

Outside of work, Michelle is a hodophile (a person who likes to travel a lot). She has been to almost 30 countries around the world. She likes traveling because she believes it exposes her to people from all walks of life, different cultures, and various ways of living. Once it’s safe to travel again, she would like to visit a few more countries to further broaden her perspective in life and know herself better.
