Richard Lim serves at the Holy Apostles Senior Seminary (HASS) as a seminarian. HASS is a Philippine conservatory that caters to young professionals who accepted their calling to serve the Lord.

When he worked as a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Coordinator at Valens Research, Richard’s main tasks were helping the Valens sales team transition to a CRM system as well as organizing and training a lead generation team to expand the firm’s leads database.

One of the challenges that Richard experiences as a seminarian is language barrier. As someone who grew up speaking a different dialect, he thought it was enough for him to understand Filipino (the Philippines’ national language).

However, when Richard went to Manila for work, he had to learn how to fluently speak Filipino and English to be able to communicate well with others. Even now in the seminary, he continues to learn to express himself using languages he does not normally use in day-to-day conversations.

Richard did not dream of becoming a seminarian but as he grew older, he realized he wanted to do something that truly matters and express his gratitude for all the blessings he received from God. His favorite quote is from the American evangelist, D.L. Moody, who said, “Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at something that doesn’t really matter.”
