Sharel Paterno currently works as a Merchandise Assistant at Rustan’s. Rustan’s is a Philippine chain of upmarket department stores owned by the Rustan Group of Companies.

As a Merchandise Assistant under the niche fragrance category, Sharel’s main task is handling the marketing and merchandising side of different perfume brands sold at Rustan’s.

Sharel was a Marketing Intern under the Marketing team at Valens Research. Her responsibilities were helping the team with the firm’s marketing strategies and writing content such as social media emails and electronic direct mails.

Two of the biggest opportunities Sharel sees in her current job are learning how merchandising works and meeting new people in the field. She believes these will help improve her analytical and communication skills. She also considers planning and creating a social media content and strategic marketing plan for a particular brand as one of her major milestones in her career so far.

Outside of work, Sharel loves playing video games. She finds it amusing that a lot of people are surprised to know she has time to do such activities despite her busy schedule.
